HBCB provided the first prize for the essay competition “The bilateral economic and political cooperation between Bulgaria and Greece as a model of international relations”

The award ceremony was held on December 4, 2014 in the Conference Room of the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki. The event was organized in cooperation with the General Consulate of Bulgaria in Thessaloniki, the Ministry for Macedonia and Thrace, the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Among the many talented students Ms. Elli Kourianidou was awarded the first prize amounting 800 euro and provided by HBCB. The second prize amounting 500 euro (provided by Ministry of Macedonia & Thrace) went to Athanasia Mountala and the third prize amounting 300 euro (provided by the Ministry of Macedonia & Thrace) went to Ms. Apostolia Gougousi.
Mr. Stamatios Theodoropoulos, Chairman of the Hellenic Business Council in Bulgaria emphasized the effort that HBCB becomes the first stop and common reference point for all the Greek companies that are active in Bulgaria.
A meeting was held between representatives of HBCB and the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece where a draft project for cooperation between the two companies was prepared.
On behalf of HBCB were present Mr. Stamatios Theodoropoulos, Chairman, Mr. Makis Mavropoulos General Secretary, Mr. Minko Gerdjikov, Executive Director.
Also present at the event were Mr. Georgios Orfanos, Minister of Macedonia & Thrace of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Ahileas Zapranis, rector of the University of Makedonia, Mr. Vasil Valchev, General Consul of Bulgaria in Greece, Ms. Adelina Tomova, Head of Public Relations and Cooperation of the Diplomatic Institute of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry, Mr. Dimitrios Kyrkilis , Professor, Head of Department of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies of the University of Makedonia. Mr. Triantafyllos Peteinidis Head of the minister’s office of the Ministry of Macedonia & Thrace of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Yannis Boutaris, Mayor of the city of Thessaloniki, Mr. Yanis Stavrou and Mr. Athanassios Savvakis, A’Vice President and President of the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece, Mr. Nikolaos Pentzou were present at the event.
