Business Breakfast Meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Tomislav Donchev
21 05 2019On May 16th, HBCB organized a business breakfast meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Tomislav Donchev on the topic ‘’Governmental Program for Further Economic Development of Bulgaria and Conditions for Entry to Eurozone’’. Moderator of the meeting was Mrs. Slavka Bozukova, chief editor of newspaper ‘’Standart’’.
The event was attended by the Ambassador of Greece in Sofia H.E. Mr. Grigorios Vassiloconstantakis, representatives from the Greek Embassy and more than 80 Greek and Bulgarian managers and HBCB members. Special guest from Athens was the owner of Sofia Hotel Balkan Mr. Ioannis Daskalandonakis.
The Chairman of HBCB Mr. Stamatis Theodoropoulos welcomed the guests and thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for accepting the invitation.
In his speech H. E. Mr. Grigorios Vassiloconstantakis reviewed the Bulgarian-Greek economic relations as well as the prospects for their future development.
Mr. Donchev spoke extensively about the challenges in economic development, achieving a stable business climate that will enhance growth opportunities and attract new investments.
His speech overviewed the political and economic stability in the country, secure and stable prices, addressed the issue of qualified workforce as well as real access to public procurement and transparency of tendering procedures.
Mr. Donchev answered the most important questions as the possibility of negotiating lower electricity prices for production purposes by concluding long-term contracts, reforms in the judicial system and the fight against corruption.
After successive discussions were outlined the expected positives for Bulgaria's economy after the entry of Bulgaria to the Eurozone as well as the issue of the future tax policy of the Bulgarian government concerning the business. He gave a guarantee to maintain the tax rates.
The dialogue was open and detailed with a positive spirit and the participants expressed their acclaim from the level of the event.
