Bulgarian, Greek cabinets agree on high-level co-operation council
Led by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borissov and his Greek counterpart George Papandreou, the cabinets of the two countries held a historic first joint meeting in Sofia on July 27 2010, adopting a joint declaration on setting up a High-Level Co-operation Council.
Greece and Bulgaria will be opening a new crossing point on their joint border, announced the state leaders of the two nations. After the first ever joint sitting of the governments of Greece and Bulgaria took place earlier on Tuesday, the Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov received Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou.
Bulgarian Cabinet Approves 2011 Draft Budget Framework
The 2011 draft budget framework, prepared by the Finance Ministry, was discussed and approved Tuesday by the Council of Ministers. The document now must be coordinated with the Ministries and the Agencies and then submitted with the Parliament.
Greek stocks soared on Tuesday, helped by a strong performance of bank shares based on rumors over mergers and acquisitions in the domestic banking market. The composite index of the market ended 4.13 pct higher at 1,692.35 points, with turnover a strong 227.357 million euros.
